Antonio Rodriguez Biography
Antonio Rodriguez is a Cuban-American entrepreneur, inventor, engineer, producer, broadcaster, artist, musician, and creationist, with a family lineage to match. As the Founder of SonicBionics, various quadratic root acoustic diffusion systems, and a pioneer of LEDE recording studio design, Rodriguez has spent a large portion of his successful career creating streamlined solutions for engineering problems. On top of this, just as his father and brother did before him, Rodriguez greatly impacted Spanish broadcasting in his community and spent decades bringing quality music to the Dallas / Ft. Worth Metroplex.
His all-Beatles radio station, “Fab 105,” was a tremendous success which helped him pursue the many creative avenues which now make up his illustrious career today.
To further his knowledge in the engineering realm, Antonio studied electrical engineering at UTA as well as receiving an associate of communication and an associate of electronic technology. He became a graduate of Synergetic Audio Concepts (now Pro Sound Training ) where he studied advanced electro-acoustics including time delay spectrometry, time alignment, minimum phase speaker systems, and LEDE control room acoustic design.
After acquiring his unique set of knowledge, Rodriguez worked as a sound system dealer and installer all while running Sierra recording in Ft. Worth (the first LEDE control room in Texas) , and then Future Audio in Dallas (using his custom diffusers). Through all of this, his bilingual abilities helped him to transcend cultural barriers and bring together all that loved good music and quality sound in Texas.
An Ashtanga Vinyasa Yogi, Rodriguez finds himself connecting with the universe around him and leaving behind a footprint he hopes will last for years to come.
However, it is no surprise that Antonio Rodriguez has found such success considering his family’s illustrious history both in America and prior. Deeply rooted in the Spanish culture and music industry, the Rodriguez family has decades of experience that has helped to reshape the Dallas and Ft. Worth Metroplex time and time again.
What began with one father’s dreams of moving to America with his family eventually evolved into the illustrious careers of both of his sons, Marcos and Antonio Rodriguez. As a refugee escaping Castro’s Cuba and the lack of free press that came with it in 1962, Antonio’s father, Marcos Rodriguez Sanchez Sr., immediately found success in the broadcasting and radio industry in America. Coming from this industry in his home country, he found hope in the US knowing his voice and the music that came with it would not be silenced.
He began working in Fort Worth at KBUY-FM (94.1), the area’s first Spanish-language station and made his way up from salesman all the way to program director with little difficulty. This was the start of his illustrious career which inevitably led to both of his sons getting involved in the same industry in the mid-80’s. His devotion to the American spirit, free press and the Spanish culture in America was passed down to Antonio and his brother, and his legacy remains to this very day. As he was later described after his passing by his son, Marcos, “He was a crusader for the freedom of the press. My father believed in the American dream. He knew he would succeed.”
As for Antonio’s brother, Marcos Rodriguez Jr, the hard work and bravery of their father led to a career in radio starting in 1976 at KESS. He is now considered a highly successful entrepreneur, movie producer, businessperson, and investor with executive production credits on the Steve Jobs movie, “Jobs.”
With family so intertwined in the broadcasting and creative industries, it only makes sense that Antonio found his future in these markets as well. Now, Antonio Rodriguez finds himself working on multiple revolutionary inventions and ventures that will only continue to reshape and reinvent sound engineering in the future. He also continues to find himself and help others through his mesmerizingly metaphorical art, connection to the concept of scientific creationism, and his Christian insights, likewise. This is the legacy he hopes to leave behind and, if his family and past are any indication, he will most certainly succeed.
